we have been putting them on if customer wants , every other bar, this is with rock trap, we are hoping to get more life out of chain, and keep chains straight and adjusted properly, no you don't need them, case tells us when you reverse feeder thats when we have chain issues, this is there fix, any other questions ask away, good luck, scott.

I am finding there are several issues with the feeder chain on 8010-8120 machines. The chain jumping drive sprockets on right rear, usually in heavy crop conditions, down heavy wheat, or high yielding irrigated corn. The machine has so much capacity that it is easy to load the rotor without losing engine power, if rotor is too slow, or clearance to wide, the feeder-house is over loaded easily. Many are using aftermarket single bar feeder chain slats, making the entire chain more rigid. Let me know your thoughts.
