cummins has had power for years, not gonna bash all other colors, no flaming wars please, just have not had any experiences, with any other motor,cummins just pulls, my two cents worth, want to hear what you folks think, scott.

Yeah cummins has always been a good engine in my book never ran any thing else over the road they seem to be doing well with the new Emission regulations. Cant wait to see their new engines comming out for 2010 bigger cubes for all sizes i been hearing.

yes this is going to git interesting with cat out of picture for truck applications, emmission control, can't wait to see what kind of a''s aches big brother brings us, ag market that i'm involved in hmmm, scott.

The old 855s were good engines just as long as you didn't run a Cat. Cat 3406 will pull better, lug better, and run smoother especially upon start up. I can't say anthing about the newer engines since I have never been around them.

Yeah if you want to climb the Mountains go with cat power if you want to drag race then cummins or detroit will do good then

Yeah if you want to climb the Mountains go with cat power if you want to drag race then cummins or detroit will do good then I agree with that. We got a 75' cabover Pete with a 8V92 set at 435 hp. It will flat out leave our 89' KW T600 with a 425 hp 3406 in the dust. That is until you get to a hill, then you almost can't downshift fast enough.
